​I'm an Australia-based author who returned to fiction writing in 2017 after a long absence.

My longer work is in the crime genre and the first DI Oscar Noones/DC Anna Pine novel, “Cut of a Knife”, is currently out with publishers. An extract appears on this website.

In addition, I'm an award winning short fiction writer who specialises in flash fiction.  These stories have appeared in places such as the Bath Flash Fiction Anthology (2108 and 2020 editions), Cambridge Short Story Prize, and VirtualZine Magazine.  A few of these works can be read on this site.

When not writing I can be found playing with our much-loved dogs, reading, researching the art of Caravaggio, lifting heavy objects in the gym, 'sampling' a good beer or decent single malt, and making awful puns.

Bath Flash Fiction

Flash Fiction story 'A Horse on the Roof and Other Stories' was shortlisted for the October Bath Flash Fiction Prize.
The story will appear on this website after its print run in the 2020 Bath Anthology.

September 2020
Novel London 

Cut of a Knife has been awarded third place in the 2020 Novel London competition. 
An extract of the novel was submitted to the judging panel, and each of the shortlisted writers read out a five minute extract in front of a large zoom audience at the end of September.

Bath Flash Fiction

"The Dissolution Of Peter McCaffrey" has won second prize in the Bath Flash Fiction contest.
